Drop shipping is a retail fulfilment method where a store doesn’t keep the products it sells in stock. Instead, the store sells products and transfers the customer’s orders to a third-party supplier, who then ships the items directly to the customer. This eliminates the need for the retailer to handle inventory or manage shipping logistics.
How Does Drop Shipping Work?
Set Up an Online Store
The retailer (You) has an Online Store set up to showcase products, often through platforms like WordPress websites like Ezy Drop Shipping or Shopify website (which we do not recommend).
List Products
Products are added to the store using details from the supplier, including descriptions, pricing, and images. The retailer decides the selling price, usually marking up the cost.
Customer Places an Order
When a customer purchases an item from the retailer’s store, the retailer collects payment.
Order Forwarded to Supplier
The retailer passes the order details and payment (minus their profit margin) to the supplier.
Supplier Ships the Product
The supplier packages and ships the product directly to the customer, usually under the retailer’s branding.
Profit Earned
The retailer keeps the difference between the selling price and the supplier’s cost.

We Do NOT Use Shopify for Ezy Drop Shiping Websites
The Reasons are;

as it’s fully customisable, while Shopify is very limited. - WordPress excels in SEO Search Engine Optimisation, helping customers find you easily. Plus, we use our Smart SEO & AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) features.
- Your Ezy Drop Shipping site has a lower ongoing cost than Shopify.
- You OWN your Ezy Drop Shipping Online Store, unlike with Shopify.
- You have more CONTROL with WordPress, Shopify can terminate your site, and close you down and you have No Control, and very little recourse.

Finding the Supplier
Normally we find a Product Supplier for you. As we know a wide range of reliable Suppliers, who have good quality products and good support when it comes to the rare warranty return.

We can stock your Ezy Drop Shipping website with products from a Supplier you choose.
As long as the Supplier has a ‘Stock Feed’ a .csv or weblink that is always kept up to date. It should have all the available products (in Stock), Product Descriptions, your Cost Price, and links to Product Images.
This ‘Stock Feed’ is what we use to keep your Ezy Drop Shipping website stock quantities and pricing up to date.
Creating an Account with the Supplier
We then apply for an account for you with the Supplier. Suppliers just don’t take on anyone, they are very selective. The simple reason is they don’t want to waste time with people who are just tyre kickers and not serious about Retailing their products.
Most (nearly all) Suppliers want to see your existing eCommerce Website, which gives them confidence in giving you an account.
So we set up your Ezy Drop Shipping website enough, and then we add Stock to the website with a Stock Feed from a Supplier we have an account with. This is temporary stock while we are creating an account for you.
After you have a Suppliers Account we use your Stock Feed to stock your website. Then continue to finish the website structure and add our Smart SEO Features around the keywords and products you sell.
Setting the Profit Margin
We help you work out the Retail Price for your products. This is normally done on a percentage across all products it could be 30% to 50% Profit, it just depends on the competition.
The Profit Margin can always be adjusted across all products at once.
Tips
- Think of selling a product line that you have an interest in like Pets, Camping, Fitness, Nutrician etc
- Or a very niche product line that very few people sell and there is still a good margin for Profit.
- We recond that Products be of good quality, this saves you processing returns from faulty products
- We normally suggest staying away from selling Clothing. As you will get a lot of returns from being the wrong size.
Unless the Supplier offers free shipping for returns and replacements. Then you still have to be the middle person between your customer with the Supplier, which is your time. - Only use a Supplier that warehouses the products in the country you are selling to. We say this to reduce supply chain issues and long delivery times… No one likes to wait for the order to arrive.
